My Overflow

Trust Fall

As this month is coming to a close, I wanted to take some time to reflect on the last twenty nine days. I’d be lying if I said that this year didn’t take me by surprise. I had my plans, but he had his. I felt almost as if the ground underneath me had shattered, and for a split second I completely lost my footing. But who was right there to catch me? Jesus.

It wasn’t rejection, it was a redirection back onto the narrow path, a higher road. Sometimes the Lord has to wreck our world in order to get us back into alignment with his will. Talk about a trust fall. But in the midst of my brokenness he rebuilt me, perfectly & wonderfully.

What did I learn?

That surrendering is the best form of submission. Trust the one who is writing my story, not the one whose living in it.

If I can encourage you in one thing, that is to be willing to fall, fall into the arms of the Father. I promise you he is right there to catch you.

Psalm 139:16 Your eyes saw me when I was formless; all my days were written in your book and planned before a single one of them began.
