The Lord is the author and perfecter of our faith. I think it’s so easy to repeat these common scriptures, but do we actually take the time to digest what this truly means?

As we welcome in the new year, its not a date on the calendar that decides what or when the next chapter will be, it’s Jesus. He writes the story, he decides how long the chapters are, and ultimately what will be in them. It’s frightening and also unbelievably beautiful at the same time. Knowing that he is Lord, that he reigns above it all. I encourage you, as I do myself to release control. Surrender any expectations, so that we can all attain the freedom that is unmatched to anything the world can offer us.

As this New Year unfolds I believe the only way to have complete contentment is to know the author of our story.

So lean in, buckle up, and get ready.

Hebrews 12:2 Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.
